jackso11
Work this one out..... I have a mazda mx-3 that has been off the road for ages that I need to sell but it is at my parents house in lincolnshire so everytime someone wants to view it, its too far away. So, I decided I am going to insure it and drive it down here to london to sell it from my house. Called up Elephant who I am insured with and they said to add itto my policy I will have to switch to admiral as they are a sister company, which is fair enough. Now for the admiral quote. Bear in mind I paid £416 for my last supra insurance at elephant. To insure the supra on its own £540 (strange as its a sister company that it went up). To insure the mazda on its own £408 To insure them both on the same policy, fully comp.....£476.42 So it is cheaper to insure both cars than it is to insure just the supra Guess which one I went for. Whitesupraboy2
yep...their multicar policy is great. Supra and Seat cordova....£350 for year Cordova by itself was £290 with another company and supra £300 Then this year swapped to fiat Stilo £270 for it alone!! SteveC
I assume you don't have (or didn't mention) a boost controller then, or else Admiral wouldn't have insured you at all. Admiral don't insure cars with boost controllers...
Dnk
I doubt you get agreed value either so if the worst happens be prepared for a shock when they value your supra
SteveC
Admiral do only pay out market value and won't cover non-standard parts such as wheels, body kits, suspension etc etc. If your fancy after-market wheels get nicked you get nothing. jackso11
hmm...my fancy aftermarket wheels cost me £300 so I am not really bothered about that. I did tell them I had a non-standard exhaust system, aftermarket alloys and side skirts. no bother. They also asked the value of the car, I told them £8000 and they have put that on the cert. Al Massey
I told them £8000 and they have put that on the cert. means nothing to them tho
mathew
i needed insurance on my supra but for theft only as it was kept on the street but i wasnt using it (it was up for sale and i had the use of another car). after explaining my circumstances and needs to the insurers it came in at £45 a week to insure the supra for theft only and would do it on a week to week basis. my annual premium was only £520 fully comp! I can tell you for certain, Admiral with only pay out market value - give them a ring and check for yourself I think Admiral are great if you have a standard car - I was insured with them for many years. They just won't cover you at all for certain mods - if you declare them. If you don't declare them, then you could end up without the cover you thought you had. tbourner
To insure the supra on its own £540. To insure the mazda on its own £408. To insure them both on the same policy, fully comp.....£476.42. Seems logical to me, it's somewhere in between. As far as they know the single policy means you'll be driving the Supra all the time, so it's more, the joint policy means you're driving one at a time, so you're a lower risk on the Supra because you'll be using another car, and higher risk on the Mazda because you're including a higher risk car on the same policy. mathew
If your cars kept on the street doesn't it need third party cover on it ? im not sure. i just asked them for the minimum cover that i legally need to have my car parked on the street without it being driven. Lude
have my supra with admiral, they were the only insurer i could get to cover me! (25, with 2 fault accidents and 6 points) 1200 quid, full NCB. have declared the mods to them (basic stage one bits) have the value of the vehilce down as 9k, you will get the market value of the vehicle, and can always refuse the 1st offer of any insurer. The Supra's not even running!
