Bailey.
Fitting a set of uk 17's to my tt after refurb in matt black! What tyre's do I go for??? I have falken on at the minute which I'm happy with, but I have been given a good price for some toyo t1r's. Anyone have any favoured tyre's? Jamesy
what do you want out of them mate? Falken 452's are a decent all rounder and cheap! R888's for serious grip, track days T1R's i've always found good
Bailey.
There just road tyre's I ve been priced £50 a set cheaper for for 452's over t1r's. Is it worth spending the extra dosh??
stevie_b
There's loads of threads on here about tyre choice. The search button is your friend.
Dnk
One of the best tyres out there are the ContiSport contact 3's Falkens are a good tyre at the cheaper end of the market, i have them on my 330 sport and they work pretty good in the wet or the dry. Bailey.
People seem to like the toyo but more are commenting on the fallen 452???!!
Jamesy
I have Falken 452's on mine and found them a lot better than the T1R's that came off it.
Dnk
People seem to like the toyo but more are commenting on the fallen 452???!! A lot depends on how you drive, how much hp/torque you expect them to cope with and how much you want to spend. Its a balancing act with the Falkens, for the money they are a pretty good all round tyre. I push my 330 on quite hard and they haven't caused me any concerns in either the wet or dry. If i can get them in the sizes i need for my supra i'd happily fit them
Bailey.
452's it is tbh i'm happy with mine, just a shame for me they are 18's and only have around 500 miles on them, doh, tyre size 235-40-17 fronts and 255-40-17 rears???!
Bailey.
It's a bpu tt manual fella, I think I will be happy with them again, it's odd how choices vary so much between cars, on my evo 6 on all the forums everyone raved about eagle f1's!!! Thorin
235/45/17 for the fronts.

TTRickeh
Quite a few rave about Eagle F1's on here too, there now called the GD3 or something similar They stopped making the GSD3 a while ago so they're quite difficult to get a hold of now, they replaced them with the F1 asymmetric's which people in general don't find as good. matt k
Have used Toyos, Contis and currently have P-zeros which are better than the previous 2 but not as good as the Potenza re050 which came off, awesome tyre just gone silly expensive
