Custom Air Filter....

I need to make an air filter, due to my NA-T setup, I cant fit a cone filter on a section of pipe as my dizzy is right in the way about an inch in front of the turbo.

 

So I was thinking about making a filter up myself. Something like a sheet of filter paper sandwich'd between two pieces of mesh and placing that straight over the turbo inlet.

 

Thing is, I cant find filter paper anywhere ? Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get hold of such a thing or does anyone else have any other idea's ?

Would a 4 runner dizzy not give you enough space to run a normal cone filter?

I think ITG should be able to sell you the filter material on its own

I shall google them now Dave, hows the build coming along ? What comp are you building the car for ?

ITG won't supply the materials, they could make me a filter but can't supply.

 

Should I be worried about surface area of the filter, which will only be as big as the turbo opening ?

As said before 4 runer dizzy cap should sort your prob go onto club na-t should be easy to find one to look at

or if need be bad filter but why not just buy the hks foam of ebay think i paid around £20 and custom fab a smaller filter housing than the origional filter has

That might work for a quick temp fix for now ..........

4 runner distributor is the way around that, hows the build going then?

4runner dizzy cap (cap for the toyota 4runner) is abit shorter than the supra only thing to watch out for it making sure you plug the right leads to the rights places, not too hard thou and can save alot of hassle.

Well I found this pic on google images whilst searching 4runner, so I guess this will be the shorter 4runner dizzy, which it looks like I could then get a bit 45 degree pipe coming off the turbo for the filter then....

That's quite impressive, for a change, simple and I can see what's what lol, I just need the shorter 4runner dizzy then I'm sorted
