Got mine this morning, had a 10min flick through, nicely set out and some good features, only thing i would say lets it down is the pictures are terrible, fuzzy and dark, hard to see much, get a decent photographer and it should be good.

I was thinking the same but thought it might be the printers at fault as the photographers are different. Jay took the pics of his own car for the article and I can't imagine for a moment that the ones submitted were that dark.

Lots of adverts, interesting to see some of the shamed companies like Future Motorsports are still going too.

It shows promise, I just think the visuals need a bit of a tweak, some of the layouts don't flow and certain pages make it difficult to see what is an advert and what is an article at first glance.

All of this can be accepted for the first issue of a new magazine but with the previous MR2 Only experience I wasn't really expecting such things to crop up.

Looking forward to the second issue to see how things move forward.... good luck with it.

It certainly all looks a lot darker than the PDF versions, and some of the pictures look a lot more grainy... that said, I still think it's a great start for the mag.

We've used some design techniques that weren't used on MR2-only, trying to push the game forward a little.

It's comments and feedback like yours which will enable TPM to improve a significant amount for issue two, and when we make it to news stands we aim to have something the entire Toyota-owning community can be proud of, every single issue :)

Good mag - not sure if the pic problem is pre-production or on press. Some pics look over saturated but some pages look heavily inked as well. Ruddy web printers! I'd say this is a production problem rather than poor pics to begin with.

I dont think its a printing problem, all the adverts are nice and clear, its just the car features that the pictures are bad.

Jays are the best, maybe hire him:D

The pictures that were submitted for my Aristo feature were very high quality Jamie. They were taken by a freelance photographer that I know, DSLR and all that jazz. The magazine images are very dark compared to what was submitted, there's a lot of detail missing from them.

Got mine this morning too, had a quick read of a few the articles, like what I'm seeing so far  Lots of club members cars in there are some nice features on SRD, Whitbitz and Garage786. Was surpised to see me in one of the pics though!

The pic issue will most likely be from not having correct dpi and image enhancement prior to print. After helping with last years calendar I can understand just how difficult it is to get a picture to appear in print anywhere near like it looks on a PC screen. Just having a high qaulity image to begin with is only the start. I'm sure the guys will work on that for the next issue.

Thanks for the feedback guys, both good and bad, all been taken on board, but all in all for a new magazine, we're pleased with it. We've a meeting lined up with the printers to bring up the issues with photos that are dark, looks like one of the units may of been over inking the black on a couple of sections, pesky web presses! we're also going to be making sure we've got the latest optimised settings our end, and make sure everything is calibrated tip top. I'm also going to up the weight of the cover slightly, and maybe even insist we try a different paper. its not all down to the photos, as there are several different photographers, one being myself! And again the layouts are also done on several different machines by different people too. And the photo that pixellated was the Gazoo Racing concept, that we did'nt have an original for, which ended up being blown up in size beyond its limit, hands up to that one, as I was the one who placed it! lol

Lots of great stuff to come for issue 2 that we are already working on, and we'll be doing a big spread on Suprapod that we'll be both attending and throwing in a bit of sponsorship to. We're also at Japshow next weekend, JAE in September, and in fact most of the big Jap car shows throughout the summer, spreading the word. In the meantime you can email me with any ideas, suggestions, and we're always looking for feature cars for future issues, which you can send to us easily by filling out the feature reqest form found in the top header of our website.

We won't be doing a digital release for the immediate forseeable, our concentration at the moment is getting the magazine onto the news stand. Once we've achieved that, we may consider digital release moreso for back issues.

The pages where articles and adverts run together are actually intentional, they're 'advertorials' SRD, Garage 786 for example, the specialist company gets a profile feature editorial, that is accompanied by their current advert.

I understand the motivation behind those ones, what I'm saying is that some of the other pages that have 1/4 or 1/8 of a page snippets on blend in with adverts a little bit.

There is also a word missing in the initial magazine introduction and it reads as though it's been recycled from MR2 only because at the end it suggests people should only get in touch if they want an MR2 to be featured.

I haven't read much more but I'll keep the feedback coming, if you have a position for a proof reader I'd like to stick my name forward ;)
