Luxluc
So you think 2 bar should max the turbo out with a good built engine Mark?
mark newman
mybe but this is with a 3'' exhaust . if you fit a 4'' you might get more 2.2 bar would be nice .
Luxluc
I'm still undecided to go for 4" DP/MP combo, or to stick with my 3" DP/MP. I have fitted the 4" Whifbitz Ti exhaust, which is more free flowing than the Dragger I had before. I'm not sure if a 4" DP/MP is really necessary on such a small turbo which comes with 3" flange. mark newman
I think it would be better with more flow. I fitted a 4'' back onto mine two weeks ago and i found that made some gain so all the way got to be better, if i was going to keep this set up I would be going 4'' all the way the cost to do this is only £250 and £about £60 for the 4-3 v band , I think its a win win. Luxluc
You're probably right ... I'll think about it, as I still have time before the engine comes out. Cheer Luc P.S. Sorry Glenn for hijacking your thread

GlennK
That's ok - intetesting Mark - only £310 for the DP/MP and adapter then...I'll see what happens at SRR next week!
Luxluc
When will you be on the rollers next week mate? Yes, around 300£ for going full 4" sounds interesting. Good luck Glenn.
GlennK
Next Monday 10th in the morning. There's a few others being done too. Coming over Luc?
Luxluc
No ... I'm just curious. Cheers Luc
GlennK
Luc, It made 678hp at 1.6bar...with a wastegate problem. Fixed that and the turbo went to 2.6bar... Only problem is that the inlet IC plastic pipe split. So had to adjourn the mapping session Lee will fix up then back to SRR soon as and Ryan will fit a 4 bar MAP sensor and we'll go for 2.1 bar and see where it gets to... Luxluc
Wow Glenn. That's a nice result. What cams are you on for the moment? When is the next session planned?
GlennK
I'm running Whifbitz 264/264 at the moment. Just as soon as I can get the new pipe in and get a slot in Ryan's diary before Friday!!! (I'm off to be a spectator at the Ferrari Days at Silverstone at the weekend so must have the engine at 110% ) Dropping car at Lee's this evening... Oooo is that on the Sat or Sunday mate as i'm only 5 mins from Silverstone so might pop up and have a sneaky peak
GlennK
Yep. That's on from Friday through to Sunday. Likely I'll be going on Sunday.
Luxluc
I keep the fingers crossed for you Glenn. 2.1 bar will give you an awesome figure ... 0.5 bar more should give you an additional 60 bhp. Can't wait for the new figures ... and don't forget to kick some a*** on Sunday with those horse-cars
Luxluc
By the way Glenn. What was the torque figure at 1.6 bar?
GlennK
Didn't get the printout of it but from memory it was near the hp figure ie in the 600's. When Ryan gets that mapping finished with those kind of numbers then those horses are going to look more like donkeys
Luxluc
Were the 678 flywheel calculation?
GlennK
Yep. Using the manual box calculations...so it is actually somewhat more than that
Luxluc
Ah yeah ... I forgot you don't do it yourself. Tell Ryan to beat the s*** out of that little 66mm tubbie
GlennK
Well, some of us are just too lazy to use our own hands O:-) Ryan's already got that tubbie's card marked. He'll make it scream ;-) Should get the car back tomorrow evening from Lee's. Keep you updated here.
Luxluc
What's the status on the car Glenn? Have you fixed the pipe and put the new map sensor in?
