GlennK
So, next build is scheduled for Monday at Lee's: Fit Built ML autobox, New ATF fluid, replace old drive shafts, LSD. Put additional coolers/fans in (will have two for trans fluid, one for oil, one for steering fluid) Fit Whifbitz fuel rail and 1000cc Injector Dynamics kit. Check and secure all telemetry connections to Syvecs Then take to Ryan (hopefully next Thursday 14th) for a remap to see what the BW91/79 can do... GlennK
Here's some pix with the car stripped down ready for the build.... and some of the kit to go in: Lee is going to add another SRD transmission cooler so will have same setup as Jamesy's... We'll be up at SRR hopefully next week sometime to see what Ryan can make it do. Then for a full geo setup...

GlennK
Update from today's mapping session at SRR: Coilpacks fubar'ed. So Ryan kept it at low boost. Result 531bhp at 1.25bar. Been one of those s**t days all round Now to get new coilpacks fitted ASAP. Then we'll see what this BW hairdryer will do. Next stop the Pod... GlennK
Well, back from another 'not quite' day... The new coilpacks were fine this morning. But then as Ryan pushed the boost the plugs started to misfire . So a mad rush up the M25 to Whifbitz to get a set of Racing 9's fitted by Darren. All ok. But saw that Enfield town was billowing black smoke from my hill view - hope the governemnt gets its finger out soon. Then back down the M25 to SRR to continue. Ryan was going well then the next gremlin; fuel starvation at high revs. :(So we called it at 1.5b and just about 600bhp. The road test was, well, impressive. Loads of mid-range torque - 560ftlbs at 4500. Will be going to the Pod as is so will not be breaking any records But will be getting another Bosch 044 and uprated fuel lines to remove the starvation problem. Onwards and upwards... See you all at the Pod Saturday.
Bailey.
Still, 600hp is stupid fast, look forward to seeing it at pod, what clutch do u have Glenn?
GlennK
Ah well - an Michel Lane rebuilt Boostlogic autobox - which was very responsive and changed up at 6800 sweetly and smartly. Lovely.
Luxluc
You don't seem that lucky lately Glenn. 560 tq is very impressive though. The sound of the turbo is bad ass too What is your current fuel setup? Cheers Luc
GlennK
Single Bosch 044 into a Whifbitz fuel rail and ID1000's and an Aeromotive FPR. Soon to be dual feed and battery relocation with fuel pump relay. Well, pushing the limits will always uncover weak areas. Getting there. Slowly... Yep. That turbine whistle is very addictive - as is the mid-range power surge!
GlennK
OK. So here's the latest update after Lee getting the fuelling system dualled up and Ryan using the latest Syvecs twin fuel pressure monitoring setup: Today's uneventful! run at SRR saw these results - NB this is for an automatic. Calculated max fwtorque at 4800rpm is 588ftlb Calculated max fwhp at 6300rpm is 618 hp Measured max wheel torque at 4800rpm is 490ftlb Measured max wheel hp at 6300rpm is 524 hp which is not the great results I was expecting given other BW 91/79 (S366) results....AND this run was done at 1.9 bar! To put it in comparison my earlier results before SupraPod were done at 1.5 bar; 560 fw ftlbs at 4500rpm and 599 fwhp at 6500rpm (470 wftlbs, 507 whp). That's around a 25% boost increase to gain around 3% power increase. There's something not right here.... Need to try another dyno to check. GlennK
So, Lee found a tiny split in the fuel line in the tank itself that would obviously open more as fuel delivery demand increased. As this was contained within the tank it was not noticeable until we pushed it hard. Yep. I know the BW91/79 will happily make over 650 whp as others will state. Where did you get yours dyno'ed and was that at the wheels, hubs or fly?
Chris Wilson
It's easy to see if there's a pressure side issue with injected sytems. If you have a proper fuel pressure gauge that works without the pump running (mechanical or wired seperately to the ignition circuits) the fuel pressure will decay quickly when the pump(s) are off if there's a leak. A leak on the suction side, with external to tank pumps is trickier, but rare. That usually manifests itself as having no issues with a brimmed tank, but pressure fluctuations when the level drops to uncover the weakness in the in tank suction piping.
