Suprab1
Hi lads, i have a petrol lawnmore & lastyear it was reving high when started for about 5 secs then it would settle. The last time it was used i was cutting the grass & it reved high for about 5 secs (uaually would only do this when starting it) then cut out. I had forgot about it until i went to use it today & it wouldn't start. I checked for a spark, put in fresh petrol & checked oil. Is there something i'm missing or has it just died? pedrosixfour
They can be fun to get goin at the start of the season, can't they! Probably just some crud in the carb Rab. Have you checked to see if the plug is wet after you attempt to start it a few times? Sometimes a fresh plug will get the S.O.B. going The best thing to do is strip it and clean it if you know what you are doing. If not bring it to someone who does know and get it serviced. Met some nice people and we raised a nice bit of cash for the chaity. I drove it like I stole it for the hour I had it out on the track. Brought my sister, my partner and her brother out for a few laps, mostly sideways! They all loved it. I've a few snaps of the day in the multimedia section. Wyntersun
check the governor spring isn't broken. This happened to out Briggs and Stratton engine last year. Revved really high and smoked until the engine cut out. Found out the governor spring had broken.

If you let me know that you are coming up for a look I'll put your name down as a passanger so I can take you out onto the track and we can embarrass a few "proper" sports cars!
