Swampy442
Try the fuel pump bypass mate, that should rule the pump ECU out.
robsaxby
bypass??
Swampy442
Have a search, get a paperclip, open the engine bay diagnostic port insert the clip into the port FP and...... Im not sure of the other and I dont want to say maybe incase it wrecks something... *edit, you do this to get round the fuel pump ECU, if its shagged the fuel pump wont run *
scotty71
found it...... +B to FP connections of the diagnostic port on the engine (i.e. voltage fed to the pump all the time the ignition is on). But Rob.. All the time this advice has been given its on a (do it on your own head basis) As swampy said. Dont shag up your nice TT 6spd matey before you ask The diag port is on the front of intake plenum, it has should have diag written on it Edited June 12, 2010 by scotty71 (see edit history)
miko_supra
Easiest way to check the fuel pump would be to run a piece of hose directly off of it and into a bucket or the ground if your lazy and then turn the engine over.
JustGav
*edit, you do this to get round the fuel pump ECU, if its shagged the fuel pump wont run * Only for testing though, don't run it full time this way, the diag wiring loom is not up to long term high current. The FP diag port is for reading the voltage going to pump, not for supplying it.
scotty71
I have just rang Rob after the diag port post and told him this is for TESTING ONLY He's only had it a week.... seen it last night, nice white TT 6spd

JustGav
Start checking voltages from the fuel pump back, the fuel circuit is a fairly simply system.

robsaxby
seems to be power going to fuel pump ecu and the pump itself, but no prime still
scotty71
how much power?
robsaxby
power going to fuel pump ecu, is 11.6 and power going to fuel pump itself, goes from 5 up to 11 depending which connects you pick, bt there is definitly power going to pump
robsaxby
guys its started, dnt no y, but just been in passenger footwell, having a look and making sure everything connected, jst tried it fire up
Steve
I would be checking all your connections then in the footwell.
jagman
Sounds like you need a new pump and filter
scotty71
with having power to the ECU/pump I think someone has caught the HKS gizmo in the footwell thus creating a loose connection. As you have just stated...check all the connections to the HKS so it is definate.. dont want it to conk out on you miles from home
Swampy442
Id say the pump is dead. Ive got a spare pump if you want to try it
