Jake
Japan did great. Very impressed with them. I loved their second goal. So cunning how they had Endo take the freekick when everyone watching was expecting Honda to take it. Completely took everybody by surprise. --- Edit to add ... Also very impressed with Honda passing to his team mate for the third goal when he could well have scored himself. Most strikers would have not have done that. Great team spirit, I thought - especially as it would have made Honda the joint top scorer in the tournament if he'd put it away.
AndrewOW
Of course, the Japanese owe their success solely to their slightly unusual, but very effective training regime. Aj7f3B1VCYM
Thorin
Today it's all about North Korea. Kim Jong-Il's been in touch using his invisible telephone giving tips already. Sounds like he's a master football tactician too. http://newsfeed.time.com/2010/06/16/north-koreas-kim-jong-ils-super-human-technology-skills/?xid=huffpo-direct Is there no end to the dear leader's talents? Go North Korea!

Scott
Missed it as I was working on the car. At least I didn't miss much To be honest I'm not surprised there was no flair, both of them were set to go through anyway were they not? They won't want anyone injured... both of the teams. Martin J
Yup, Ivory Coast could have equalled Portugal's points total (had they lost to Brazil), but would have needed to spank Korea DPR to get the swing in goal difference.

Yeah that was kind of my thinking. I know it shouldn't happen but I'm certain if one of the teams had scored you would have seen a different game as the other team would have woken up. The fact that they were both safe with a point meant it was just a kick around.

Yeah they both contrived to draw. The only other outcome would have been Ivory coast to go through if they scored 9 or more and Portugal got beat

Swampy442
Haha game on indeed! How does the cliche go, 2-1 is the most dangerous score in football?
Scott
I'd be more worried about 8-0 to be honest

Swampy442
Felt gutted for the Koreans earlier, they did so well. Hmmm black stars or stars n stripes? Ghana have a big strong young team, could do great things in the future
ellis
Koreans really deserved better than that.
