Supra is knocking?

Hey guys.

Bought a 1994 N/A Auto Supra from a guy on here.

Car runs fantastically, but after about 30-40 miles there was this weird knocking noise.

It sounds like when you have a flat tyre, the kind of "bom bom bom" noise, it gets faster when you accelerate.

It gets quiet when you get to a higher speed around 40-50mph.

Checked for flat spots on the tyre, tyres are all at manual stated psi.

Im at a loss and ive only owned it 2 days :search:

Any help would be great!

Paddy

hey

im not sure what other info i can give.

Its like...say you are going along a road that has alot of "joins" in the tarmac you feel that type of bump, sounds like its right under the seats, both driver and passenger, also felt in rear.

Its speed dependant too, its like the wheels go round one and you get bump, then again and again, as you get faster the knocking noise gets faster.

Once you are up to 70 it goes/becomes impossible to hear/feel.

Sorry, im not sure what else i can offer.

Im getting it up on ramps tomorrow morning anyway to check loose bolts, then jacking it up to check wheels and bearings.

just to be safe, ive booked it in to the garage.

had it jacked up at the rear yesterday and took wheels off.

nothing on the rear of the car is loose...but what i did notice was if i put it in drive and turn it on the passenger side rear wheel spins and there is a clonking while its rotating freely, so i hope its just a bearing/mount/universal joint...
