Guigsy
I got a warning up on my car at lunch today. warning light and check engine light, also trac control light in the right hand side cluster (next to engine light) is on. car seemed fine so i drove the 1mile back to work. then drove it home a few miles. no problems. runs. idles and boosts fine. nothing looks out of place. so i checked the error codes and i get... flash flash flash flash flash flash flash pause flash... which is code 71. but this code doesnt seem to exist! any help? Guigsy
Interesting. i swapped out the ecu for one that had been fiddled with by some american company. i figured it was to do with that. Ill swap the ecu back and see if its just coincidence... Edited June 9, 2010 by Guigsy (see edit history)

Ian C
Sounds plausible, if you've got an american ECU in there, it'll be expecting an EGR system. Good spot Swampy -Ian
Guigsy
dont uk specs have this then? could you trick the ecu somehow to think its got the system? Connect some wires together? Id like to keep the ecu and back to back dyno run test it against my stock uk one. But obviously only if its going to be safe. Looks like the error is just awarning that it cant find the system, And the car is running normaly anyway... So nothing to worry about?? (other than at the moment i cant see if i get any other warning) so im not going to drive it arround much with the warning light on Looks like one of those chips for the supra and that "doesnt work" or whatever. but it would be interesting to see. heres a bit of info. http://www.jetchip.com/imports.asp Edited June 9, 2010 by Guigsy (see edit history)
