dr_jekyll
just a theoretical thread but who knows one day if my numbers come up. What do you think it would cost to build a brand new supra . I mean absolutley every component new from the chassis down to the door card popers. its something i would love to do though its 99.999% i never will but for the sake of some supra chat i was wondering any ideas? is it even possible to buy a brand new shell from toyota? youre thaughts gentlemen
ilicos
How long is a piece of string? Depends where you buy the parts from, if you are going for 100% bog standard, VVTI, etc. I would estimate between £40-60k as buying parts (especially new oem) is always more expensive than buying the car from a forecourt
Steve
IIRC there was a guy on Supraforums that did this.

Stonkin
Yes there was, but didnt he fit a trd kit at the same time? It was a silvery / gunmetal colour. lovely car
stevie_b
I'm surprised you can still do this. I would think that *some* parts may not be available any more, e.g. the shell. Basically the big non-replaceable parts.
kslb
£78,412 if you start with a bare chasis and go for genuine stock parts.

jackso11
haha. Yes, the prize is you get to pay that amount of money for a brand new supra. When you find it on supraforums stick a link up, I would like to have a look

It was a silvery / gunmetal colour. lovely car Yes - username on SF is JustForFun. I think one of the main reasons it was feasible for him to do it was a) he worked for Toyota b) he is a crazy Swede Plus, he finished the car and promptly sold it

Al Massey
I have said that if i ever win the lottery i would build 2 brand spanking ones, one completly standard and the other a BHP monster lol I can dream lol
jackso11
I would build a brand new one and make it a monster too. I have thought if I won the lottery I would just take my car to a specialist and just say 'do everything to make it the best supra you can'. Then just see what they do. My choice of bodywork though....if they put a Vielside spoiler on I would burn it.

Homer
If every part is purchased as new it's well over £200k, a guy on SF worked it out a couple of years back, but prices have gone up since then
