rhrw
Who is insured with Admiral with Mods ? There are loads of threads on here with people who seem to be insured with admiral......but the threads are old. I ask because I have insurance with Admiral for my TT supra at the moment. But I phoned them up and declared some mods and they said they would no longer insure me ? Bugger...... School boy error ! I declared - Stainless exhaust, alloys, dump valve, boost guage, and fuel pump. So my question is... who has RECENTLY got a policy with admiral (or elephant) and sucsessfully delared mods. I dont really want to go to SKY or Adrian Flux as they where loads of money last time I checked.. Admiral is much cheaper
Scott
I'm with Admiral, my guess is that they don't like the fuel pump
rhrw
Fuel pump......What really, or are you yanking my chain !
Branners
They used to only allow 3 modifications to a car before they stopped insuring it. There would be a question over declaring the boost gauge and fuel pump as they are not performance mods, but I suppose they are mods so should be declared. Scott
Fuel pump......What really, or are you yanking my chain ! I think the fuel pump is one of those mods that insurers just don't like, see it as dangerous I guess. See what happens if you don't mention it. You are allowed 5 mods with Admiral before giving them a call to declare the rest.
rhrw
what so are you saying you can declare say...stainless exhast and wheels and dump valve. Then in two weeks phone up and declare boost controller and gauge ?
Scott
what so are you saying you can declare say...stainless exhast and wheels and dump valve. Then in two weeks phone up and declare boost controller and gauge ? No, on the online quotation system if you select any more than 5 mods on the screen, or if you select vague ones, the system will then tell you to call for a quote. If you already have a policy with them you just have to call them up and add the mods. I wouldn't bother with the dump valve, boost gauge or controller if it were me. I would if it was an EBC though, just not an MBC.
rhrw
I have done it online now and got it to work, cheers Scott. It doesnt make any difference to price if I click dump valve or not so might as well declare it.
Scott
Yeah, might as well bud. Glad you got it sorted out
Lee_e
I will also be going with admiral due to the fact that SKY and adrian flux where almost double the price of admiral quote.
aman00123
I'm with Admiral, got my policy in Feb all my mods are declared. I would ring them up, really helpful and actually reduced the price of the online quote!
SteveC
My insurance is due in a couple of weeks and I'm currently with Admiral. I told them about the very recent full stainless exhaust, AEM AFR gauge, AEM Tru-boost gauge/controller, Greddy BCC, RLTC and a new Cat 1 alarm system. I was then told that they could no longer insure me because of the boost controller. Looks like I've two choices: Find another insurer or remove the boost controller. The thing is, I'm just not prepared to pay silly money for car insurance...
