Brazil
Guys, I need advice in buying an air compressor for the use of air tools and maybe some spray painting for personal use. The price varies so much I do not know what is good or crap. I just want something that will do the job, it does not need to be high dollar life time guarantee but don't want it to be toys r us rubbish either..! I also been looking at torque ratchet, sockets, car jack and axle stands. On ebay there are some that are so cheap that I wonder how they make a profit...! I belive it would be ok to buy axle stand, car jack but what about the torque ratchet, compresor and air tools..? Any advice please..? AndyT
Buy the best you can afford mate. Air comps, don't forget you're single phase bud. Torque - just get a decent torque wrench from Halfords.
SUPRALOOPY
I only buy snap-on but I only have one tool and Hammers are hard to break.. ;-)

AndyT
PS ebay. No chance I'd be under ebay sourced kit mate. It's cheap for a reason and it's not worth the saving.

absz
I have used britool right from my apprentice days and do recommend them highly:) also you cannot go wrong with teng-tools and facom. on a budget the draper Expert are not too bad, if using air tools then you need a compressor with a big capacity i use a 200ltr sealey at home and seems to cope will. PS forgot to add the halford professional range are also of very good quality comes with breakage warranty

I'll go with that advice and add that the "Facom" warranty meant that after 19 years of use they replaced my swivel ratchet without any argument. Hate to admit the French made something well mind you. Remember cheap tools can be dangerous!!.

They have the warranty Britool used to have. Excellent kit but expensive. Halfords Pro gear has a similar promise and is a fair bit cheaper. Kamasa garage gear is on a par too.
