Branners
Windows 7 64bit all installed and running. Eventually found drivers for the printer, but I think my HP 4470C Scanner is driverless as HP dont list it for W7 and the 'find me the driver' stuff in W7 didnt find one. Looks to be quite nice, not as quick as XP even with 4gb of memory, but then thats to be expected as XP is nearly 10 years old now or so (?) so was built to be streamlined. Homer
If you have problems with the scanner let me know and I'll ask a friend who works for HP's IPG. His nickname is Dilbert Aero options can slow things down a little if you're using a lower range GFX card or one with not a lot of on-board memory. Not noticed any difference in performance here, but have a reasonably good GFX card.

Should be quicker than XP.. Windows 7 is designed to be a simpler OS, might be the GFX card as Homer suggests. Mine flies and I 'only' have 4GB of RAM. Thorin
I've been running 64-bit Windows 7 on my new PC (Thanks Daman!) for a while now, also after staying on Windows XP after all this time. When I looked into it the only real reason to stay with 32-bit now was if you had some hokey old scanner that didn't have 64-bit drivers... like you've discovered Luckily I managed to find a driver for my all in one printer/scanner, but for the price of a new scanner these days I'd just go out and buy a new one. Wez
The only reason I stayed with 32bit on my laptop was some ECU software that didn't have 64bit driver support, I solved this by running VirtualBox with WindowsXP 32bit inside, problem solved
