Alex
Shame it's not an Esprit you've locked...they just need a whack in the right place on the door to pop them open LOL Congrats on never getting a spare sorted when you only had 1 key
dangerous brain
I did this on my rover 220 a while ago (to be precise my kids buggered off with the keys and left them at the mother in laws) I did all that lock drilling and breaking in. Bought a full replacement set from ebay (ignition, doors, boot and fuel cap). Day after I changed em 2 things happened. 1st my mrs informed me we have lock replacement on our house insurance for lost keys including motor vehicles. 2nd you guessed it the mother inlaw phoned saying she found my keys in the nippers toy box at her house :grrrrrr
Ian C
Result. Happy car today, I have two working keys and it cost me 'only' £175, which is good considering it'd have been more than that just to get the car recovered to those thieving gypsies at Ford. This guy came round: http://www.attendalock.co.uk/ And within minutes he'd picked the double-deadlock, and within an hour he'd cut new keys and reprogrammed them. Top bloke. Just gotta get a remote from Ford now if I get annoyed with manually opening the car Also I now know how to reprogram them, it's a 1 minute job and Ford charge ninety quid -Ian

jackso11
I'm sorry mate, but that's turd. I used to cut the keys. There are 6 slots, with 4 varying degrees of 'cut'. Hopefully I'm working this out correctly (a maths bod will be along soon to prove me wrong if I am) So thats 4x4x4x4x4x4 = 4096 combinations. I bet you get discount if you bulk buy loads of key blanks. Just buy 4097 and get one of each cut, try them all to find the one that fits and then use the extra one to cut yourself a spare.
