Guest Terry S
Hi Guys, Is there a prefered, safe, legal, low cost download site I should be looking at? The kids need to be able to access it too, so it will need to have a huge database.
Kopite
i've started using limewire, seems really good so far and it's free http://www.limewire.com
GeordieSteve
http://www.allofmp3.com Very very very very cheap (about $0.2 per song)
John_M
been using Limewire for about a month after a mates recommendation and found it really good. Other site to try could be WinMX (do a google search) which is free also. Not tried this one yet but recommended by same mate.
eldudereno
Started using Morpheus recently and can recommend it...much better than WINMX which I used to use.

J4CK50N
I use limewire, and have no probs with it. It is file sharing, so make of that what you will!
Guest Terry S
OK thought the file share thing was frowned upon and was technically illegal? If not I will continue, so help here please guys.... the http://www.allofmp3.com looks good, but not sure I want a Russian gangster having my C/C details
Castle
It's Peer2Peer and is completely illegal!!....whether you use it is up to you
Guest Terry S
Thanks castle, not really up to date with it all, thought it was a closed shop now but obviously not, so which is the best peer2peer??
eyefi
itunes shop (not p2p). easy, reliable, reputable, legal and fair price.
Alex
Morpheus or Limewire are the best P2P systems BUT I strongly recommend you have a decent amount of protection (firewall - hardware and software) from the P2P exploiting viruses out there. They are illegal but the only people getting prosecuted are those hosting the files...so just don't share what you download. iTunes isn't free, isn't P2P, but is legal. Nic
Are you using PC Terry? Limewire is one of the best P2P, but if you are using Mac I can suggest a better programme. Make sure you have firewall software installed before using P2P software otherwise you are open to people hacking into your machine.
Guest Terry S
OK recommended firewall ( PC) I currently have Norton Security 2005
Nic
You should be okay with Norton firewall, as long as you keep it up to date.
Castle
I'd go with a bittorrent program like azureus...
Barry
Terry, I used to use Limewire (still do occasionally), but yes, it breaches copywright rules to distribute music etc... in that way. I now get albums via Media Player, cant remember who it contacts to download, but all you do is register, make a block payment of say £20 - £30 etc... Then buy either sinlge track or albums whenever you like. Albums are £6.99, single's are 69p. Just load up Media Player (V9 or V10) and follow links from the home page. All perfectly legal.
