SupraStar 3000
Just found a couple of manifold bolts loose on my NA engine. Just needed nipped up. I'm hyper sensitive when it comes to engine sound and a few days ago I'd detected a slight roughness in the engine which I'd assumed was down to the exhaust side, but having tightened the manifold bolts everything sounds fine again. My concern is, could the engine suffered damage whilst the bolts were loose. I'm guessing, worse case scenario, if air could have escaped enough to make it sound rough the fuel mixture would have been way out causing detonation issues. Like i said, its drives and sounds fine at the moment.

Homer
If you have the stock steel gaskets there shouldn't be any issue as it wasn't leaking for too long. If it has cheap aftermarket ones then it could well have blown the packing out while it was leaking.

Exact thing happened to the aftermarket ones i fitted! lol Can you re-use the stock metal gaskets on an aftermarket manifold?

Car seems fine driving to work this morning and the any leakage (if any) was minimal,... hopefully not enough to blown the packing. Just being cautious at the moment as i could really do without any more expense
