Dreaded Sticking Starter Motor ?

Recommended Posts

Looks like the old gal has finally let me down in nearly 5 years of ownership :(

These starters any good ?

Or would I be better of getting my local garage to refurb the existing one ?

Comments appreciated - thanks :D

Thanks for the tips.

Have ordered the one above as it will be here quick as need to get car back on the road ASAP as daily runner.

Planning to refurb OEM one slow time now and then probably sell it ?

Thanks - now found a suitable picture to indicate its location.

Planning to give the starter motor a test bash this weekend, so hopefully can get the car to the garage next week without phoning ADAC :)

mine is causing me grief since i got my crank pulley changed. The garage says they never touched the starter so i'm assuming it must be the starter itself. Did anyone's just click when you try to start it but after a good few attempts it starts as normal with no labouring to turn the engine over? Does this sound like old worn brushes or dodgy wiring to the battery?

Above ebay starter motor in and working fine :)

Only charged an hour and a quarter by the garage and now have the old one to use if need be.

Note to others, above starter motor delivered next day and is pretty good quality, but not as heavy as the original Denso motor. Also the terminal for the electrics connection had to be adapted, but a very simple job.
