gannon888
ive had my supra bpu'd for about a year now and nerver really pushed it. But when i was driving along the m40 i decided to push it (set up to 1.2 bar on high boost with a greddy boost controller) and it runs fine through the gears until i hit 6th where as soon as it hits 4k revs the boost controller flashes red and shows about 1.5 bar pressure! ive had it all fitted with the correct kit including the restrictor all from whiffbitz and fitted by a professional (JPS motorsports). i have also replaced any worn pipes, but the problem still persists. any help would be very much appreciated cheers
Nic
You'll always get higher boost when the engine is under more load in higher gears. ie. if you set the boost controller to achieve 1.2bar in 1st-2nd gear, it will go a lot higher than that in say 5th or 6th when the engine is under more load. The red light on the boost controller will be the warning light. Which GReddy boost controller do you have fitted? Some of the more expensive boost controllers (including the GReddy iColor) the boost settings can be mapped against speed so you can achieve max boost through all gears. With some of the more basic boost controllers the only option is to set them up to achieve max boost in 6th, but this will mean you will see less than that in lower gears. gannon888
i just checked and its a profec bspec 2 controller. ill have a try with 1 bar boost at the weekend to see if it stops the problem, but it is very strange that it does it at the 120 mark, my n/a hit 140 with ease

dive_popo
have you tried to turn off the boost controller ?? When off you shouldn't have more than 0.8 If you have more that means that it isn't the BC

gannon888
the induction kit fitted is a greddy one from whiffbitz, not sure what type (cone obviously) as it was a year ago but i remember it costing over 200 quid!! then the rest is stock! i also dont have an fmic fitted! if you all think that my car is running fine then all is well i just worry when i get warnings come on my car and i was worried that there was something majorly wrong with the turbos or something. and a big thank you to the replies youre all really helpful
Nic
You can select between 2 saved modes on the Profec, what you could do is set one up for everyday driving ie. as you have it set at the moment and the other set for higher speed/higher gear runs ie. so the boost peaks at 1.2bar in 6th gear.
