jevansio
Im going to talk with a engineering firm i use tomorrow, im confident he can cut my wheels in half and weld another inch or so in them, i have some other 18" wheels here he could cut up to get a spacer from, gonna measure up what clearance i have on the inside of the wheel and go from there. Obviously check how much space you have to the suspenion as that is where all the extra will go if you know what I mean

jevansio
I know exactly how you're going to respond to this suggestion , but when I fitted the RLTC is was awesome at putting the power down when on the edge of traction, it's like without it, there may be a couple of times in any one gear when it breaks traction, and once it does that's it, but with the RLTC it isn't cutting in continuously only when it needs to
JamieP
I knew somebody would mention it sooner or later in this thread:D no way am i fitting traction control, im not having anything cutting the power on me, i just need more traction and will sort it. Nobody mention the swear word "traction control" in this thread again please:D Edited May 31, 2010 by JamieP (see edit history)
sdistc
I have a set of Rays GTS on mine - 19s (yeah, I know they're not the best for traction) x 9.5" and 10.5", running 265s front and 295s rear (couldn't find decent priced tyres in 300+). The Rays rims can go up to 12 or 13" if I remember correctly. I do love the look of the CCWs though - and it's definitely worth remembering that it's usually tyrewall that gives straight-line traction, and width that gives lateral grip. jevansio
I was going to suggest you may get some better info on SF as there will be a lot more guys putting rwhp figures like yours down. Just had a look at Marios thread on his new setup to see how he was handling such issues & saw this post: lol the car is just WAY too hard to handle @ 30psi in the street on the 19s, i'm going to probably scratch the HREs until the PIAAs sale and in the mean time I'm going to put some 325-50-15s in the back with some weld wheels because the way the car sits is just not a whole lot of fun yesterday iwas rolling it @130mph and then getting on it in 5th and the car would smoke the tires. Depending how it feels on the 15s i will either keep it like that and just tune E85 or simple add the second wastegate so i can limit the HP better. I know it's 19's but hell smoking the tyres in 5th lol I guess when you're getting to this sort of power you just need to get as much width & wall as possible. As sdistic says, you not think that even with the extra width, it's going to get you to the position that 3rd isn't lighting the wheels up, and dropping to 17x11 wheels would be better (although that's mean you'd have to sell the Advans - or buy 2 17x10 Advans & have the work done on them)

JamieP
I know it's 19's but hell smoking the tyres in 5th lol 5th gear is pretty insane. Cold tyres mine will spin up easy in 4th, i need to get a few pulls into them to get them nice and hot before i get any decent traction, my 0-190 video took me 3 attemps before i get the tyres up to temp to get a decent pull. I need to get you guys a video with my rear mounted camera, i can set my tyres alight in 4th if im not carefull, 200 yard 120mph rolling burnout:D Liking the CCW's mate thought about some for mine then spraying them darker. They would look awesome on yours. CCw's are out mate, they wont clear my brakes, they wont even clear uk's it seems without spacers.

Wez
http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/ will make wheels to suit, you could stick with an 18" up front to clear the brakes then go for the smallest you can on the rear to get a decent side wall
