But in the us, arnt tuning parts more cheaper? if we want the bits they got you have to add shipping and tax to everything you want to buy, so we always have to pay more than they do...400bhp is cool...its not going to reach 800-1000 in a few days...if you feelembarrased just save up and collect all your parts:D

After bing in jamies car i can confirm well over 700bhp is still a useable street car.

That thing stuck at 70 coasting down te motorway as good as any other luxury road car.

Depends how u do it. If its stripped out then prob not like ryans or colins, but many are easily a road car used every day with + 700hp.

Have you ever been in one?

No mate, I'd like to; have yet to be taken for a spin in a single.

Was'nt having a pop at high output cars, i'm all for them and will be going for a small single once she gets her wedding... :D

....Its just the thought of it; 700+ bhp on the road, bonkers

You soon get use to it, the first few times it feels fast but you soon want more, well i do anyway, Yanks are way ahead of us in tuning Supras, back in 1998 they had two street cars on the drag racing thread that could do 9 second 1/4, we dont have that 12 years on.

Agreed, I've had quite a few superbikes; a little aprehensive on the first day, pushing your luck on the second day, travelling at lightspeed everywhere on the third day, looking for something faster on the fourth

700+ bhp sounds nuts; but I guess if there was more of a scene for (very) fast roadcars, it would'nt seem so mental

Is there a thread on here on QSV quick spool valve would like to know more about it...? I've tried searching QSV but not had much luck, it appears to be a nice peace of kit..!

There are a number of threads with end user data on the QSV now, but you are better searching on SF, if I didn't have the HKS manifold I think I'd try it myself

Not saying USA drag time don't tell lies, drag is in their culture, but has any one from the USA brought a car over here and reproduced the times on a UK drag strip?

As for a 700bhp road car it really depends on how it was planned and built. With careful thought, power delivery can be almost a "factory" experience and perfectly drivable.

Not that I'm aware of, not for want of trying though. I tried to get a few of the big boys to come over for a couple of the large UK events a few years back. No takers unfortunately.

Can you blame them? Id not take my car all the way to USA just to be in an event.

You can say that about a Volvo too......

But then you're not one of the global trading companies claiming to have the "worlds" fastest Supra's, being offered an exppenses paid trip abroad to promote yourself ;)

A few guys from the UK went abroad to prove their respective achievements, so it is done. :)

I am going to aim for between 600/700bhp but with fueling/cooling that could handle 850bhp incase I get bored and decide to fully build my motor and change turbo's.

I know there are lots more to take in consideration, I am still learning and have plenty more reading to do. Once I am ready to build I would like to be involved and get as much hands experience as possible under professional supervision. I would like to be able to work on my own car plus the engineering aspect really fascinates me.
