I am right in saying that if it was the drive shaft or the cv joint it would affect the diff as well ? as the light on the dashboard for the slip comes on when I try to drive it....

I'm guessing that the slip control light would come on whether it was the driveshaft, diff, clutch uj, halfshaft, splines.....anything. as the ecu is seeing drive exiting the gearbox but is getting no reading from the wheel sensors......that said if it was a cllutch then I'd imagine that it wouldn't care either way as it wouldn't see anything from the no1 speed sensor

Hopefully you might be able to help or at leaSt point me in the right direction ??

Im not sure what the problem is but I think it may be the driveshaft or the U joint or something ??? Wont know till later as the car broke down on me last night and its going to the garage this morning.

For awhile now Ive had a clunking noice when changing gears and taking off etc but last night it just gave a shot and now the car wont move ! It goes into gear and all fine but it wont budge at all, just grinds and makes an rotten noise like its in pain

It seems like its from the left rear but Im also hearing a noise in the very centre of the car ?

Has anyone had this problem before or maybe know what it is ??

Really appreciate it

It could be a bad universal joint and the best way to check is just to pop out the drive shaft and check them. You might notice a lot of rust around the bearing surfaces which indicates the bearings are dry and U joint replacement is needed. Rusted, sloppy,or frozen

U joint will have to be replaced.

Sorry lads,

The above reply was meant for another Forum where my gf's car felt like it needed to be tracked in the rear but wasnt the case. The bushes in the tie rod arm were gone/worn so just replaced the arm -30 minutes max my mechanic did it in...

The above problem on the Supra was the CV joint after
