Fitz
I've also wondered this for when mine goes. Ran flat a few weeks back so thought I better do some research, although....I am quite lazy. I'll be back once the suggestions appear
merckx
You get a good no quibble warranty at Halfords. I would say that this is the most commonly recommended battery on here.
supra steveo
might have to go find someone with a halfords trade card
SupraStar 3000
Yep, get it from Halfords mate. Main reason,.. the warranty I keep my Halfords receipt in my log book. When it can't hold its charge i get a new one.
Fitz
What model battery did you go for Ed? Also, are TT/NA batteries different (i.e terminals)
SupraStar 3000
I think it was the HCB 005 (for my NA) see here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=30238&highlight=battery&page=

a98pmalcolm
i got a boch blue top S4 bat the other day with a 550 cold crank start! £53 which its alot cheaper than halfords and there cold crank starting power is sumin like 480 so id check ya local boch motor factor mate
AndyT
Halfords here too. £60 - £70 now though. Probably due to the warranty. Both times I have managed to flatten mine I have jumped it and driven around for half hour and no problems. I also leave it disconnected for 4 months at a time, re connect and she fires first time. Love it. Nice info on the Bosch though Malcolm, I'll have a look around for those.

stevie_b
See Ian C's "definitive battery thread". There's some up-to-date recommendations in the last few posts. The Cold Crank Amps figure (CCA) is probably the most important thing to look for. I find Halfords rather expensive for batteries. Their HCB 005 currently sells for £90. Try online sellers (I got mine with a 4 year warranty), or a Toyota parts desk.

Jay_vr6
I got one from toyota 4 weeks ago, T28800-YZZJC for £65 inc vat, the battery is huge and fits perfectly, cranks at 620a, alot more than the halfrauds one which they wanted £100 for. stevie_b
Where in Hants are you Steve? Ive got a card I'm in Basingstoke. I'm OK for a battery at the moment, but I'll remember what you said if I need to buy anything pricey from Halfords. Cheers chap!
