Guest mhd212
Pros I need your HELP, I am building 350z with 2jz engine. I fixed almost everything you can imagine T51R SPL housing 1.2 MoTec M600 ECU Greddy intake Fully modified head 1000cc HKS injectors Electromotive DFU And many other stuff What I am facing now and makes me worried is the block internals. I bought Eagle ESP H beam Rods and wiesco pistons and that’s my main concern…. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Eagle-Rods-Wiseco-Pistons-Toyota-Supra-7M-7MGTE-/230442107056?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35a76b80b0 How good are those? Will they be able to handle 1000 whp? Shall I take the risk and put them in? any one tried those and he is happy? The parts are on the way and I am looking forward reading your comments Thanks
ellis
Those parts seem to be for a MkIII not the MKIV - the 7MGTE engine not the 2JZ. More technical bods may well tell you that the piston sizes seem too small - I thought the 2JZ bore was 86mm or 86.5mm.
dude
Dude the eagle rods are not really a match in quality for your other components, get some Brian Crower or Carillo, I think I prefer stock over Eagle !!!!

Guest mhd212
looks like I linked items for the wrong application, however I am asking about the same brands ( eagle H rods and wiesco pistons). i am aiming for 1000WHP:innocent: But I am worried after al what I paid, those stuff will ruin the dream-----> reaching the stars However, I think its worth a shot since there are alot of chats about how good are the rods:eyebrows: What about the wiesco pistons? Terminator
Weisco pistons are not a bad make, but if you are aiming at 1000bhp, don't cut corners, Eagle rods are OK in small single applications. Take Dudes advice and fit rods that will cope at much higher power figure than your target. Both Crower and Carillo have a long established reputation of being exceedingly strong. Terminator
guys I heared that 3 guys nearby got more than 1000 whp on stock internals and gt42 and gt45 turbos :S thats really amazing. It is amazing. The question is not, can they take the power, but how long can they take it. Toyota always over engineer everything, that is what gained them their reputation. It is a commonly held belief that the 2JZGTE was designed to deliver 500bhp, so given Toyota's history, the engine could /can take a little more. Running 1000 on a standard bottom end is a bit of a lottery. The uncertainty clock will be ticking as the engine is operating way beyond its design limits. By using components that are designed, tested and proven to stand much higher than your goal, will take away that uncertainty. Just look at what is being used in the majority of big power Supra's.
