As above, I need an IACV VSV as mine has died. :(

If you have one spare, please let me know.

Ta.

Is the actual motor body the same as a 1UZ-FE or MK3 Supra? If it is I have at least one. They are over £300 from Mr T lol ;)

Alternatively, send me your old one and I'll test/repair it.

Lyndon.

The IACV VSV is around £80 new from Toyota. Paul Whiffin got me one recently :) The bigger vsv's (EBV and Wastgate VSV) are a lot more expensive. I went through a few second hand IACV VSV's but they were all a bit ropey. I think they just die with age. I'm guessing the engine heat makes the electrical contacts break up inside. HTH :)

Cheers Dr D. I'll buy a new one if need be.

I'm hoping someone will be along with one soon. There are plenty of people running TTC that don't use them anymore.

While I wait I might open it up and have a look to see what I can see.

I was quoted nearly £400 from Mr T when I enquired about one for my Mk3 (Granted it was a long time ago). £80 makes buying a brand new one a no brainer really. We are talking about an Idle Air Control Valve Stepper Motor?

They would make a really cool proportional boost control valve with appropriate mods.

I opened mine up to try and fix it. You can clean the valve, magnet, spring etc but it think it's the electrical part (which is sealed) that breaks. Mine functioned fine off the car & tested with a multimeter, but when in the hot engine bay it just didn't work :(

Nope. It's the Intake/Inlet Air Control Valve - Vacuum Switching Valve. It's part of the Sequential system. They're usually easily confused on here! :)

As Doom said above its just a little pneumatic solenoid valve. When you see it you can't believe it costs £80

Yeah, just done the same, it seems the coil is glued in. :(

It's the OP who's confused things a little... asking for an IACV VSV which doesn't exist.

IAC VSV = Inlet Air Control Vacum Sensing Valve

IACV = Idle Air Control Valve

Anyways, I may have one (IAC VSV), I'll have a check this weekend. If they're £80 new, how about £20 posted?

Sorry for the confusion, my mistake. I've only been looking into it today. Reading the guide here; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35926

and this one here;

http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/supra/turbo.htm

makes it sound like the 'Intake Air Control Valve (IACV)' is the actuator part of the assembly and that the Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) is separate to control it.

If you do have one, and its in good working order, £20 delivered sounds fair. :)

I don't suppose you could check before the weekend could you?;)

Unfortunately it'll be tucked in Mr Ryan G's garage and he's away at the moment. As soon as I can get in touch with him I'll find out when I can pop around to dig it out.

Just to be clear, which bit are you looking for? The VSV, or the actual valve assembly?

I'm pretty sure I have both....

Just the VSV please Tony. I'll add a pic to the first post.

If I hear from anyone else before I hear from you, I'll let you know.

Thanks.
