sup colours

right, so I sold my UK-Sup last week and am thinking of buying a J-spec as a replacement as I can now get affordable insurance on an import. Looking at VVTI models for sale at the moment I have seen 4 gunmetal, 1 black and 0 silver.

Just out of interest is there any reason for this?

My sup is gunmetal grey, imo the best colour you can get and one of the rarest.

Gunmetal and quicksilver are different. Gunmetal is more grey than silver rather than quicksilver which is like a slightly off silver.

Theres some pictures of my gunmetal sup here

Enjoy

Gunmetal and Quicksilver are not "just poncy names for silver" :complain:

I think both colours are only available in the facelift models - I await confirmation from anyone better informed!

Sheena (Amazing Grace) has a gunmetal supra, and mine is quicksilver. We both thought we had the same colour until we stopped to compare them side-by-side! Gunmetal is a lovely, deeper shade of metallic grey. Quicksilver is like metallic fog - and I love it :ecstatic: I waited ages to buy a supra in the colour I wanted, and I never get tired of adoring it.

In answer to the question about ordinary silver - yes, I think it's called Lucerne silver?

To actually answer your question, I don't think Lucerne silver (199) is available on the facelift (post '96) cars, only Gunmetal (6N0) and Quicksilver (1B9).

I've also seen Black, White, Red, Yellow and Blue (RSP) facelift cars.

You won't find many VVTi cars for sale at present, due to the fact that the import laws were changed in April 2004, effectively stopping the import of '97 and newer cars.

VVTi first appeared in September '97
