Markie
Does anyone know if off the shelf HKS cams will work fine with the VVT-i as they do with the non-VVT-i's? Also, if they do, will the car require tuning before using it with the new cams or?
Gamer
HKS make a version for the VVTi... It is called the HKS Valcon Plus VCAM Kit
Chris Wilson
VVTi cars use a totally different intake cam. HKS do a controller kit (VALCON) with cams for the VVti models, it may be possible to just buy the intake cam as a spare part if you wish, and pair it with an exhaust cam, which is a common fitment throughout the model years.. I think they are 264 degrees duration in th kit, but maybe less so. Of course, a cam change should be paired with a mappable ecu, in order to modify timing and fuelling., although SOME performance gian is possible with stock ecu and cams at SOME points in the RPM band.
