Kev_A
Further to this thread... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=217739 Fixed that problem (basically the tubes coming from the EBC solenoid were the wrong way round, must have happened when I had all of it out to do some engine bay cleaning) Since then, I've fitted an FCD, I took out for a run to start setting up the boost controller again and at first it was fine, then it started overboosting again and I have a sound of escaping air. I've had the exhaust in bits to check the restrictor ring was present, it is and is in fine shape. I've also done the following... Replaced both EBC solenoid -> Actuator hoses. Checked cap on bottom of wastegate actuator. Checked EBC solenoid is allowing air to pass through it. I'm running out of ideas here, can anyone help? chrispot
have you checked the wastegate actuator diaphram for leaks, I would disconect the ebc and run a pipe from turbo housing to waste gate this will put it almost back to stock and then check what boost pressure you are getting ( no need to put wastegate vsv, as is only used to stop wastegate creep) . if diaphram is ok double check hoses, you could also get a foot up and jury rig up to check wastegate is moving and at what pressure, i would be inclined to fit a smaller RR and recheck if all is ok, then you could refit EBC to up boost to what you want, if you get it sorted please let us know what the problem was. regards chris
Kev_A
Hi Chris, tried this today and it worked! boosting around 0.9 bar now Was nice to drive it properly again instead of having to back off every time it came on boost! Does that mean my EBC solenoid is cream crackered? Also, still got an air leak sound, thinking this maybe the reducer on the top of my induction kit not being sealed properly, will check that tommorow. Kev_A
Found the problem today, my HKS BOV is not closing properly, it's just blowing air out constantly, going to strip it down, clean and re-assemble it tommorow, hopefully the problem will be solved

That was the original problem, coupled by a sound of escaping air, sorted the overboost but still had the sound of escaping air
