Chris Wilson
I had heard that the Wednesday general test day at Mallory Park circuit was attracting a mouth watering selection of seriously exotic race cars these days, but I haven't been there in donkey's years. I was pointed to the link below the other day, it is now in my diary as a *MUST GO* event, and hopefully it's a venue where I can shake down my Lola as the engine is now nearly finished. Our very own Wez's tutor, Mike Wilds has a nice high quality video linked to the thread in the last few pages of him running in a Williams FW06 there. If you like historic race cars it's well worth a browse! http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=127667
AlexM
If you set a date when you're going over Chris I'll see if I can pop along, Mallory is only an hour for me.
Chris Wilson
I may just have to see if any business takes me that way, tempting as it is to devote a whole Wednesday to prowling the paddock. If you meant when i take the Lola, that is still very tenuous as the engine is still not complete, although I now have all the parts and i think the heads are now machined for the special valve springs, and when it IS finished it needs to go on the dyno. Realistically it won't be in the chassis and ready to go until August I guess, so I will probably just be spectating at Mallory. I will post here if I am going and also PM, but it may be short notice. Cheers, hope to see you there!

Chris Wilson
A good friend of mine nearly lost his legs in a horrible crash into the end of the pit wall barrier at Donington a few years back, in a Huron. He's taken up aerobatics now instead
Swampy442
I went to a similar event at Silverstone couple of years ago but with 30s onwards rare racers, lots of blower Bentlys and stuff thrashing round. There was also this wierd little 3 wheeler powered by a 14 litre V twin lol

Robzki
We always used to go to the f1 at silverstone, but ticket prices are now too high to make it an enjoyable few days. So for the last few years we have been going to the silverstone classic. Outstanding weekend. Love the p34 tyrrell 6 wheeler The F1 always costs us £500 each for the weekend, whereas the classic always costs £200-£250 including camping beer food etc. And from my point of view the classics really are classics they race everything from Minis to f1 loads of exhibitions, rally displays etc. good evening entertainment. Would love to make it to Mallory park but I'm only allowed out once a year
