RobD
Well after a 3 month wait and no engine! I'm now contemplating breaking my car for spares! I've done a few calculations and the money works out more than what i'd get if I was to sell it! Also if i was to fit certain parts to it would get me a bit more money towards a TT! I just want a TT now! As i was getting a full conversion really cheap, its not like I can go and get another, as i'll have to save quite a bit again, plus with a holiday coming up I can't see me having any spare money much after this month now! Whats peoples thoughts? I know its a NA but it has quite a few desireable parts on that would sell well! Its nothing i'v totally decided on yet just another idea from many ATM! It also wouldn't be broken until after the holiday in july!
Sakey
Your right about it being worth more in parts but I personally wouldn't do, unless all the proceeds go towards replacing it with a TT. What is it with people killing the red ones! ... dibbs on the bonnet
dan1985
you know your car and got it up to a standard you obviously like. you know its history and its niggles. i wouldnt pull apart a good car. if you buy a new car you know none of this. my vote, TT conversion

j_jza80
How much would you want for the car as it is?
RobD
At the moment it needs bits doing to it, ideally brakes replaced and a few minor bits also! It's on PH's for 4350 but ideally I wouldn't take less than a 4 grand for it after everything was sorted! With eveything being stripped I reckon I could get the full asking price if not more! chazuk
Nice car mate , how much is a tt lump these days ?
Awisto
Thought you were using Damo? I offered him a TT lump (Aristo) a month or so ago but said he didn't know anyone looking?

DekJZA80
All the money going towards the TT sounds the best way.....wont look back once you do so! I'll keep a eye out for when you start breaking, maybe use a bit or 2 Dek.
RobD
Thought you were using Damo? I offered him a TT lump (Aristo) a month or so ago but said he didn't know anyone looking? Are you Nic by any chance? You come to my works quite a bit? Aristo engine I wouldn't of turned down, I was going to pay a grand for the whole conversion for mine of a mate! So I'm still 700 shy off getting a tt conversion elsewhere! I need to think about it, just a sad state of affairs when a car like a supra is worth more in bits than as a whole! It is a nice car, but it's going to take quite a bit of time to get the rest of the money together for the engine!
Kirk
Rob put your dummy back in and just carry on using it. TT can wait, just enjoy your bloody car. RobD
Well I'm giving it until after my holiday in July then I'll decide! I may just buy a tt engine then get the rest of the bits! At least if the engine is there I know the rest isn't far off
Awisto
Are you Nic by any chance? You come to my works quite a bit? Damn, my stalking days are over Just make sure you've done your homework if you go the breaking route. You don't want to be left short of the money you need and with a load of useless/unsellable parts left over.
RobD
thought it was! Your last post when you said about my friend in Chesterton had me thinking!
Attero
There is absolutely nobody with a 2JZ-GTE engine to fit? Might have to wait for the winter again or maybe once the racing season is over. I wander if you can import one from the US or other european countries?
RobD
Is not a case of no one has one for sale it's the case of funds to buy one!
dan1985
if you cant wait mate, why not start buying bits to make it an na-t.... always an option and you know the balls rolling
