This is my first project thread so bare with me ,

 

My supra has moved far from where I bought when it was standard apart from a exhaust, major things already done by myself uk 6spd conversion +bpu .

 

In this project

 

Single install currently not yet decided I did have my mind set on the BL kit with a precision t6765 billet .81 ar but these BW kits from Paul are making me think.

 

A full re-spray and general tidy up.

Full bush kit

Battery move to boot

 

I will be doing all of the work myself so the project build probably won’t move as fast as most do , as I will only be able to work on the car at weekends and when the other half grants permission: D I will not be able to do the body respray as I do not have a oven but I will be doing the engine bay and all door shuts etc.

If anyone is wondering what is the empty spray can doing in the end of the intercooler pipe that was me testing for leaks I swear I had one ,the other end is a bike tyre valve fibreglassed to a intercooler pipe.

Thanks for the kind comments , hopefully I do not ruin it trying to choose a colour is driving me mad , I have gone from RSP/ lambo gunmetal/ to same colour as orginal amo's old supra the lambo pearl yellow. I know the gunmetal will look class but it could be a standard colour I wouldn’t mind it having a bit of flare , Any ideas?

Never too sure about silver supras, but yours is lovely! Good luck with the project.

Colour is a very personal thing, you have to just go with what you like, id go with black or the lambo gunmetal myself.

Thanks mate ,blimey though at this rate with all the nice comments I will be re-spraying it the same sliver which funny enough did cross my mind and seeing what matt (supra matt) did to his sup when it was white maybe a very small hint of blue pearl in the clear coat to make it a little something extra:)

Black is the best colour for a hardtop I think, but on a aero when the roof is off it does not look right for some reason. Good point though I should go with what I like maybe not worry what others might think I just didn’t want to make the car look lax power mag material

Thanks dude, however I am sure other sliver owners will notice , the sliver looks the nuts at night and when it’s not in direct sunlight as I find the paint to transparent it has no real deep reflection in sunlight as to other colours.

Cheers Simon ,it has its few bad points as with any 16 year old car as to be expected , I was hoping to get it down to you for that quote to have the outside done looks like it will be after its all put back together now, I might have to drive around with odd colour door shuts until its done but thats okay.

Engine ready for removal , jesus the block connectors through the bulkhead was a pain I think with 2 people it would help!

Ive been playing around with photoshop tonight trying to get a idea. Ive ordered a litre of lambo yellow its a 3 stage pearl not cheap but I will see what thats like as I am not 100% sure on colour.

Personally I think the yellow cheapens the car considerably. It's the colour of a Corsa not a well prepared car like your will be.

 

Don't cheapen it with a chav colour. The blue and gunmetal images show how nice a car this could be.

I was worried about this , still not 100% on the yellow yet but I guess as long as I am happy with it I shouldnt worry.

I will be able to try the yellow saturday do a quick test and if its okay I will do the engine bay , if not its looking like gunmetal theres so many varients though.

 

One colour that is not on the list as I cannot seem to photoshop that very well is white, heres one I found on supraforums I think the black inserts for the vents looks top.
