Guest andrewdsupra
Hi all i have recently brought a n/a auto mk4 supra as a project. I brought it from the auction as it was going very cheap don’t know if it was a good or bad idea but when it was going through it was making a rattly noise i thought it was something like a loose heat shield. When i got it back i have noticed in neutral its making a rattly noise, but when u give it a little throttle the noise seems to go away. Also when u put it in drive the noise goes away completely. It goes through the gear really smoothly and runs perfect its just when its ticking over in natural and sometimes when your driving it about and waiting at traffic lights. Has any one had this problem before or any ideas would be very grateful for any advice as i really want to keep the car Thanks Andrew
Homer
Welcome to the club There's a few possible causes, but basics first - have you checked the gearbox oil level? There is quite a specific way to go about checking it, just pulling the dipstick is not sufficient.
