engine and hazzard light on

Hi guys,

 

Bit of a worry..... my engine light and red triangular hazzard/warning light on the dash have come on, the thing is the car has enough oil and coolant in and runs fine, no clunking or grinding atall.... is there anything silly it could be or do i need to get it checked out somewhere? Is there anything else i can look for to diagnose?

 

I drive a n/a 6 speed manual if that helps....

What about the brake fluid level?

ive since done some searches and have found a few other threads similar with the same.... fingers crossed its just that. i`ll check.

right i checked the brake fluid and its full up.

 

Maybe a dodgy sensor of some kind? is there anyone in the south west i could take it too for a diagnostic check?

It could be your alternator. The same kind of thing happened with my warning lights. Took it to my local garage and they said the alternator had packed in.

The brake fluid level warning is extremely sensitive, might be worth putting an extra mm in just to make sure.

I've had the warning light up when i had a stuck brake caliper but i think you would of noticed that (grinding noise at low speeds) but you can check that as well. Have you recently installed a decat?

yea ive recednt;yinstalled a de-cat..... im confident its nothing more than a diagnostic fault thats irrelivant to the runnig of the car but you never can tell. i`ll do some homework and feedback what i find so people who have this in the future can look into
