kubus1
Hi guys, I had no chance to properly introduce myself. I got my Supra from Poland, its a LHD Auto imported from Switzerland. It is very much standard, but I m planning on a few changes. I ve had the car for more then a month and I think I got fed up with sitting in the car waiting for cooldown. Ok, I want to fit the Turbo Timer, I ve got a good contact in Japan so I can get hold of Jap parts a bit cheaper. The question is, will it work with my alarm. The alarm system I bought the car with is Chalanger( dont know the exact model) , its the one with three buttons on the remote. i m new to this so any comments will be appreciated. Does it matter which alarm system you have when choosing the timer? thanks
Thorin
Originally posted by kubus1 The question is, will it work with my alarm. The answer is almost certainly no. In my case I can lock the doors with the key then as soon as the engine shuts off the engine is imobilised. Pressing the button to arm the alarm simply does not work with the engine still running. Not really a problem for me as I have secure parking at work and just leave it without the alarm on. At home I can leave it running and lock the doors and then a couple of minutes later press the button from inside the house and it will alarm it. I think all turbo timers are pretty much the same except that the more expensive ones have an automatic mode where it determines how long it should be left running according to how fast you've been driving it. As far as I know the only alarm systems that work with turbo timer is the clifford one which has one built in.

They had a look but said that it was not possible with my alarm/imobiliser.
