JustGav
There are plenty of light, powerful 4 bangers in the VW range to choose from should the current power plant not peel your spuds. The 1.4tsi lump is reeeally appealing to me at the moment, if I do come across a cheap one I'm going to put it in the scrap-it van Keeps tax cheap
Scott
Are you replacing the interior? If so I would keep a hold of the original bits and bobs as it is the rare all white interior
tooquicktostop
Are you replacing the interior? If so I would keep a hold of the original bits and bobs as it is the rare all white interior Having the rear seats recovered in white leather and having new front seats in white leather added (will sell the original seats as I have no space) I have ordered a set of original gauges for the car as they are missing, quite fun actually as the parts are not too expensive which makes a change
tooquicktostop
Been very busy spending cash again, collecting parts for this, have managed to get 2 New white leather bucket seats with new runners and subframes New steering column surround (old one cracked) New Mk1 GTi front grill badge (blinking rare and expensive) New front upper, lower and rear strut braces (forum recommendation to stiffen it up a bit) New bonnet lifters 3 original VDO gauges for the lower dash (3 empty holes when brought) New lower lip spoiler as original was cracked Set of engine dress chrome bits Still need a subtle steering wheel to replace the nasty original one and a nice set of mats, coming along ! Miguel
Everyday must be like Xmass for you. Going to be nice when it's all done. I think I may have some of those VDO gauges knocking about somewhere you know.

tooquicktostop
Ignore me I am buying some of the old cars I always wanted when I was in my early 20's but could never afford, the C4 Corvette, the Golf MK1 GTI Convertible and the Sierra Cosworth are in that group, as is the Lancia Delta Integrale, Audi Quattro, Rover SD1 and Rover P5 V8! Just restricted with parking at present
