Scott
Anyone got any guides etc to doing the above? Even a link to the service manual? It's that time of year again I remember a while back there was a guide for the Power Steering (Doesn't work now?) but I don't think I have ever seen anything for the Clutch. Did the gearbox & diff last year so moving onto the clutch and PS this year (along with the brake fluid, engine oil etc).

Only way to swap your clutch fluid mate is by bleeding it through with fresh fluid like you would with brake fluid. PS, disconnect one of the lines to the cooler and let it drain, switch it from lock to lock with the engine running BUT dont leave it to long so the pump goes totaly dry

Kirk
On the side of the slave cylinder there is a nipple just like you would find on a brake caliper mate
Scott
On the side of the slave cylinder there is a nipple just like you would find on a brake caliper mate Excellent. Where is the slave cylinder? Seeing the pattern yet?
Kirk
There's me thinking you had a clue You know where the fuel filter is right? Well next to that bolted onto the side of the box is the slave cylinder It will have a rubber hose and the hard pipe attatched to it, realy not hard to miss mate just when you do oviously have the pedal depressed, get some clear plastic pipe and bleed it through till you see clean fluid but keep the master cylinder topped up or you will just pull air through it the system and then you will have to bleed it. Scott
No worries mate, looking to bleed out the lot anyway. Replacing the fluid in the brake lines, clutch lines and the powersteering as best I can. Now, clutch master cylinder location?
Kirk
Clutch master cylinder is under the bonnet next to the brake master cylinder/servo.
Scott
Sounds good. Does it have "Clutch Fluid Goes in Here" on it?
Kirk
No just dot 4 fluid only on the black cap oh and dont overfill. Its fool proof. It even has max and min engraved on the side

DuaneT.Turbo
Hey Scott! Did you manage to change the clutch fluid easy enough? Im gonna do mine before Japshow and just wondered if its simple enough to do on axle stands?? D
Scott
I don't recommend it mate, bleeding it was a bit of a pain. There isn't really any need to, have a look at the fluid and make sure it looks ok. If it does I recommend you leave it be and just fill it up if necessary
DuaneT.Turbo
Ok then, how do i know if its ok by looks? colour?? Mine seems to have dropped below minimum so gonna either top up or change.. Cheers D

Cheers D If it looks really dark, murky, crappy then it's time for a change. If it still looks reasonable (yellowish and seethrough) then it's good to go, just give it a topup. Think of it like your wee, if it's really cloudy you have issues
