DaveR
Yeah HERRICK 6. That's when I was there. I was probably in the next compound (OMLT) getting stiffed with Menu B rations everyday by your CQMS...! Good bloke.
dan1985
lol, that would be the one who fired a terry rpg and nearly took his own head off lol
DaveR
I didn't know about that, but that's Karma for the quite literally never-ending supply of the aforementioned Menu Bs! I'm sure he had an ISO or 2 full of them with "OMLT only" on the doors...

DaveR
True! It certainly was at the time. Apparently it's been "done up" now so it's a lot better defended. I don't know if anything's been done about the FLET-facing "dash of death" to the lower stand-to positions, though...
dan1985
well that was all ana positions when we were there. our stand to was all from the tower back with the sangars surrounding. hated that place

TLicense
lol, When I was a pup and used to do a bit of luffing around in the ATC. We had a parade for celebrating 50th anniversary of VE day I think it was. It was absolutely roasting hot and we were all in full dress. We were parading alongside the local RAF Reg guys from Brize. I remember a few of them feinted and were rather hastily pulled to one side by the SWO who didn't look too pleased. I seem to remember the word 'useless' and a word that sounded like 'shunts' being used quite liberally when we got back to the formation area. I think he was a bit miffed that his chaps were falling down left right and centre but none of us cadets had any problems. (We were wing drill champs at the time - happy days!). As you say, gentle flexing of the toes, clenching thighs and hands all help to keep the blood flowing.
tbourner
I nearly passed out having a blood test once.
mwilkinson
Had the pleasure of standing on the cordons while you were marching around Horse Guards. It was on the Wednesday training session. It was hot and I had to constantly explain what was going on to numerous members of the public, it was dull!! It all looked very smart, although on leaving there were many unhappy faces in the ranks
jon5698
I hope he was taken straight to the guardroom and beasted once he came too? he should know the rules, if your going to faint on parade you have to go forwards lol

What was strange was the aid was from 0900 to 1200 hours and we got op feeding. Don't get me wrong, I had my fill but odd for such a short bit of aid!? Always loved the parades and never fainted once The toe wiggling was what we were all told to do.
