Gaz6002
I am a Lawyer!! We'll agree to disagree Gaz!! You're not, but anyway... yeah. I disagree, because I've seen this happen first hand in England.
Attero
I wouldn't put yourself down as a named driver. Insurance companies are very good at finding out things and if they have a single doubt, they can stamp your insurance out like nobodies business. Stay away from that. Well judging by your attitude, I won't comment any more on the matter. You're obviously always right.
Attero
Doesn't make it cheaper being one year old. I am 25 with 7 years NCB on a number of high powered cars, an I am paying £900. I got a quote at 19 and that came to £1900. 20 dropped it down to £1500. (No extra NCB)

Attero
N/A. TT got quotes about a £100 more generally. Which seems to be right.
Abz
Thats a good price! I should be able to get a bit lower being 21. Do Adrian Flux offer the best quotes? Adrian Flux couldn't even quote me on my Supe even with my 7 years NCB & I called them for a quote. I am 25 and paying just over 600 Euro. (500 sterling roughly). Yeah but you pay £1,500 a year road tax dude! Crap, £1500 a year is quite alot im currently only paying £800 a year on an EP2. I know you pay for the performance but you would think that you could get a cheaper price then £1500 for an N/A Supra You have to see it this way, the insurance companies are think, a 21 year kid with a 3 litre engine & RWD. I think the main thing is the fact that it is a RWD which is why I'd expect the quotes to be quite high as your driving experience is limited, they are just calculating the risks. It does sound bad when you put it that way, it is a risky combination to have. Still I will carry on trying Just not sure why Directline wont give me a quote, I have 3 years no claims with them so that would help get the price down. I think I was once told that Directline are good for insuring imports, but I can't get a quote for a UK TT because its group 20 and I can't get a quote on a N/A... :S
Guest Nick 10
If theres anyone else that has got insured at like 20/21 it would be a real help if you could just post your quote and insurance company

marc_p
why not find the spec of supra that you want and phone sky for a quote Sky wouldn't insure me until I was 23 and then said they wouldn''t insure me fully comp until I was 26. BTW, I was with Admiral paying about £2k FC when I was 19 with 3 points and 2 years NCB
Guest Nick 10
Just got a quote of Elephant on a UK TT for £1450 with 3 years NCB. I'm impressed with that, seems like a good price at 21 for a TT Looks like I could be getting a supra after all
Attero
If you can find a UK TT.... they are rare mate. Especially the manuals. And especially stock. And especially in great condition.
Nepalm
Sorry if this is a thread already, need help on getting a good insurance quote. Looking at getting either a N/A or TT supra. I'm 21, currently insured with Directline but I cant get a quote of them for one. Ive got a clean licence, no convictions etc but not sure if I can carry me no claims over from my policy. Can I get insured on a Supra at 21? If so which companies are good at what kind of price range am I looking at? Any help would be appreciated. I was 22 last year got a TT import and insured with admiral £1900 fully comp with 2 years no claim but i did multicar with my bro and his miss now @ £1050 lol ps i just got a quote from admiral for a uk TT for £1060 for 1 year at this age STAY AWAY from imports

They hard to get hold of? Saw a few on auto-trader I think but it was hard to tell the difference between imports and UK. Yeah I definately need to get a UK one my insurance would be insanely high if I got a import TT. I was quite tempted by an automatic, read on here that they are actually quite good? Or am I best of with a manual? Can you get a UK TT manual?
James
At 21 with 3 years NCB and 3 years driving experience I was £951 fully comp on a 1993 NA-TT J-Spec. That was with Bell.

Guest Nick 10
If youve been on your parents insurance how have you accumulated 3 years no claims? Ive only been on there for the past year I was with the post office before that for 2 years, so ive got 3 years no claims if I stay with directline, the price i got quoted was 3 years because I didnt think theyd insure me, but with 2 years no claims it only goes up by like 40 pound a year

Whats a NA- TT J spec? Is it NA or twin turbo'd? Sorry I'm new to supras, thats a good price for an import
Homer
As mentioned, the main problems with the UK (especially 6spd and unmodified) is they are extremely rare. There were only ~650 UK's ever made, of which only a few were 6spd. Quite a few have since been written off which leaves a very small pool of cars. They do come up from time to time though, but are in general, rather expensive.

Sorry I'm new to supras, thats a good price for an import NA-T means an NA import with a TT engine fitted. Not a cost effective route to take and the insurance can be a problem on them. They will also tend to be a 5spd or auto, unless someone has gone to the huge expensive of fitting a 6spd.
