Guest Nick 10
Sorry if this is a thread already, need help on getting a good insurance quote. Looking at getting either a N/A or TT supra. I'm 21, currently insured with Directline but I cant get a quote of them for one. Ive got a clean licence, no convictions etc but not sure if I can carry me no claims over from my policy. Can I get insured on a Supra at 21? If so which companies are good at what kind of price range am I looking at? Any help would be appreciated. NOS
If you can't get cover, which I think you will, go on one of your parent's policies. It's worth it!!
SupraShaun
I got insured on my TT at 21 with Endsleigh

I'm on my parents policy at the moment, the problem is that there with directline and as far as I can tell, directline wont cover me on any supra due to it being an import, they just wont give me a quote
Guest Nick 10
I got insured on my TT at 21 with Endsleigh Yes this is what I want to hear, is that on your own policy, fully comp? How much are you paying?
Branners
If you can't get cover, which I think you will, go on one of your parent's policies. It's worth it!! In the UK it is not worth it, it is illegal and will invalidate your insurance if you have a crash. All they have to do is prove you are the primary driver of the car and they can invalidate your insurance. Any excuse or any reason to not pay out and they will find it. So dont put it on your parents insurance and hope to get away with it.
cashpoint
If you can't get cover, which I think you will, go on one of your parent's policies. It's worth it!! Until You have an accident as what you are doing is called fronting and invalidates insurance. We all know that insurance companies will do anything to get out of paying out. At 21 your pretty much screwed when it come to insurance, try getting a UK spec as there less to insure.
SupraShaun
Yes, that was fully comp on my own policy - £2500 That was 2 years ago, with Sky now and a much better price Yes this is what I want to hear, is that on your own policy, fully comp? If its the only option I have then I may have to do it
NOS
Whatever route you decide to take, best of luck with it, I hope you find insurance as the Supra is a pleasure to drive. Welcome to the club.

Attero
I'm 20 and I got insured easily. Adrian Flux. Give them a call. Btw... I got £1500.

If its the only option I have then I may have to do it Call Sky insurance on here... But if it's that desperate that you'd risk getting arrested for no insurance then try remote control cars instead for a year or two. Or, buy a lesser RWD car and learn how to drive it properly

If its the only option I have then I may have to do it You can get insured on it as a second driver on your parents policy but if the insurance companies find out that you use it primarily then they can invalidate the insurance which might not be helpful when you crash. NOS
It's a risk, but it would be very difficult to prove that it is used as your primary vehicle. Remember, the standard of proof for a criminal matter is ''beyond all reasonable doubt'' and not the civil standard of proof (on the balance of probabilities)

I should be able to get a bit lower being 21. Do Adrian Flux offer the best quotes? Also if you add parents onto your own policy, does this help to bring down the price? Heard of people doing this on another forum.

Guest Nick 10
I know quite a few people who are second name on their parents insurance, I know that insurance companies are heavily cracking down on it but I would of thought it would be hard to prove. I will take which ever insurance option is going to allow me to get insured on a supra for a good price...

Adrian Flux are a broker that work on personal quotes. Don't email them. Get on the phone with them and they can offer you some great deals. Plus sign up with pistonheads and sign up here, tell them your a club member of pistonheads and you'll get a decent discount (get the quote first, then tell them to re-quote you). I got a real good price because of the discount plus I live in a very secure area. So depending on your NCB, you could get anything between £1000-1600. Not sure how the insurance works out where you live.

Crap, £1500 a year is quite alot im currently only paying £800 a year on an EP2. I know you pay for the performance but you would think that you could get a cheaper price then £1500 for an N/A Supra
