gavin.starr
Ideas Ive seen one of these just around the corner from me, they look pretty smart considering its a hyundai. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1729391.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1722521.htm Or something small and pokey. Been thinking of the C2 VTR or VTS or GT http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1524438.htm

ozz
Everyone has different taste but they really are terrible looking cars. The newer model isn't bad looking and pretty cheap but in no way a performance car IMO.
Miguel
You're on glue with the Hyundai!
colsoop
How about a torquey diesel ? I run an ibiza 130 tdi and its actually pretty pokey but not too much to run or insure.
Abz
The Hyundai's are pretty terrible, my friend brought 2 black ones in his fleet for hire. It is the current shape which is not bad looking but when I sat inside OMG did it look tacky, the dodgy chrome, the tacky LED screen for the temperature. I thought I'd let it aside thinking the drive would be good but the ride was very harsh, thought handling might be good then but it was only average. The power from the 2.0 16v was very poor & it honest drank petrol like there was no tomorrow. 6 months later he returned them back to the lease company even though he had them booked for 2 years. One of the customers had hire the car over a weekend for a long drive & when it returned it the leather seat had gone all funny What about something like a Honda Civic? Ford Fiesta, Seat Leon? What is your budget?
Attero
Hyundai Coupe's are ugly mate. I wouldn't want to be seen in them even if it was a runabout car. I'd suggest a Civic (despite the reputation of a young boy racer that it gives off - they are pretty good cars).
gavin.starr
i was thinking more along the lines of the c2 anyway small and pokey. the hyundai was just an after thought. Diesels do absolutley nothing for me i find them boring, i like to the hear the engine and exhaust notes which i feel you get nothing of when i tried my mates seat leon tdi. My budget is around the 3k mark and cant really go any more than that.
gavin.starr
Why the hell would some one put an advert like this up. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1734726.htm
caseys
Friend has got through 3 gearboxes and some front suspension on his c2 GT. All replaced under warranty. It's like the car's made out of cardboard and dreams. Also done 2 engine changes with a friend on his old saxo vts. They're all shonkily built IMHO if you can break them with no mods with just the occasional spirited drive Get a vag group car. You could get a nice gti or tdi mk4 golf for that money and they're not slow and an abundance of parts available. If you're fussed and exhaust note why are you looking for a cheap car? gavin.starr
im looking for a cheap car to replace my already cheaper car which is slowly falling apart which is an oldschool vw breadvan, im after something with a bit more poke than the 40bhp that my polo seems to release at the moment im not fussed about exhaust notes im just not at all interested in diesels.
