ManwithSupra
Hi All, After spending 7 hours outside yesterday cleaning the supra for its first proper summer clean, i seem to have been out in the sun a bit too long does anyone know what maybe the best thing to do for sunstroke? You know the usual symptoms, dizzy, sick, shivering, headache dodgy stomach i am sat inside at the moment and drinking lots of water but i am not sure what else to do really apart from trying to take my mind off it by browsing the forum. AndyT
Keep up with the fluids and rest mate. I do know someone who had to go to hospital for 5 days on a drip. He did have a stomach virus as well though.

Attero
I had sunstroke last year... during a festival. Was awful. Had to rest for a couple of days. Keep away from the sun as much as you can.

Stevo
Some dissolvable rehydration mix if you have any. Cold wet flannels or towels wrapped around any burnt limbs will be soothing too.
Brazil
I would google it if I was you...! you may need to make sure you balance all that water with salts/surgars in your blood..

Smallshinyant
if you have any army mates, in the ration packs there is a fruit drink in a sache which you mix with water. Tastes awful, but helps rehydration and getting the minerals back into your body. Helped me last time i had i heat exhaustion, but i was in the army at the time so a bit easier to get hold of the stuff.
Dyer864
suffered from this on countless occasions, and still aven't learnt Best with the cold flanells and some soothing cream and yes get the non alcholic fluids down you !
PJ
Sports drinks are good for you because of the electrolytes in them, also mango's and watery fruits are good to eat. Cold flannel on the back of the neck and forehead, generally try to keep the body cool.
ManwithSupra
Thanks for everyones advice, my wife went out and got me some painkillers and some rehydration salts and have been drinking a lot of water, staying out of the sun and staying cool although i am still feeling it. But cheers for all the advice and cool flannels tonight i think, last night i only got 3 hours sleep so hopefully i will get some more tonight. Its a shame i had to miss one of the nicest days so far of the year

Terminator
If you have trouble sleeping keep the bath full of luke warm water, drop in it and get out and let the water evaporate on your skin, that will help you keep cool.
