Abz
5 - 10% depending on how much the buyer wants to put down & value of car.

dilocruzy
Thanks guys, 5% sounds reasonable. Ive had a chap called Thomas from Germany making me an offer on my advertised car but he wants me to hold it for him untill June. He said he has dealt with one of our members here and I sent him a message for a reference before I say yay or nay, fingers crossed!

Good luck dude, 5% non returnable deposit sounds good in case the sale falls through.
Robzki
I would always be willing to put up 10% when buying. £500 on a car of £5000 shows you're a serious buyer. 2% is only £100 on £5000, more likely they'll change their mind.
