Branners
I cannot really go through a list of what words are acceptable and what are not. If you would not use the language infront of your kids or in a formal letter then it has no place on the forum. Where we might have accepted certain words in the past we have to crack down on pretty much anything so that we don't have a situation where the moderators are not sure what is acceptable and what is not. I expect people to self moderate on this, if you don't need to use the word and it has no bearing on the post then don't use it.

johnny g
Bumping this - in the last few days, I've seen a boatload of swearing re-appearing. Let's keep it under control, eh?
ManwithSupra
Can there be like an Automated Swearing ban using the Swear blocker feature - Im sure something could be scripted? So if someone was to use a selection of strong or mod "defined" swear words say more than 3 times then an automatic ban is applied? I am a member on another Jap car club and the swearing is pretty non existant, maybe perhaps the odd light swear word but nothing like this club! It would be nice to read through this forum and not see the needless swearing, it not only brings down the clubs reputation it makes long standing members want to leave. The way i see it is that there is no excuse on any public forum for swearing, as you have to think of the word first to write it... so swearing on any forum is deliberate. I joined the Type R forum and we got it good compared to the amount of swearing that goes on in that. Then again, I shouldn't be so surprised
Steve
Well as always if you spot any swearing please use the 'Report Post' button, we can then take a look and take appropriate action.

ripped_fear
i was on another forum and you couldnt press the submit post button if there was rude words detected. good idea, BUT people should have enough restrain to stop them selves from posting such words. It doesn't achieve anything apart from making you look a bit of an idiot,
Steve
Swearing appears to be increasing yet again, we have been more lenient but if it continues will shall be giving out infractions. You have been warned.

johnny g
Time for this to be bumped. Barely a month since the last one.
Gaz6002
OK Christmas bump for this one as language is on the slide again. Remember folks, even putting punctuation in place of some letters in a word won't do if we can still tell when the word is. Rules is rules, and we'll be infracting people if they can't converse without some type of swearing
johnny g
January bump. Swearing, whether disguised, masked or deliberately mis-spelled is not allowed and will result in infractions.
The Raven
I agree from now on i will use "josh" instead of swearing. "What a pile of josh that car is" "I couldnt belive my joshing luck today" "that guy is a total utter josh"

neil tt
Just read through the whole thread, have'nt noticed that much swearing recently, but I was watching a 12 film with my daughter the other day, and could not belive the amount of bad language in it, It is quite scarey what is acceptable these days. hogmaw
I jolly well love swearing me and I wish I could here but this board is way too "grown up" and policed by squares. I have to say 'Goodness me' or 'Good Lord' for flip's sake. Swearing can be funny, imaginative and sometimes it's the best and only way to describe something properly. It's not always derogatory and insulting. It's not the swear words that are bad, it's the way that they are used. I'm all for clamping down on flaming and insults, but banning swear words isn't the answer.
