Hoppy
Mark, i just removed one of those e-bay short shift kits from my car.In my opinion, they are NOT a viable product for the Supra.Cheap + Nasty The one i fitted would'nt select reverse properly, and i found it very clunky going into gear most of the time.I tried adjusting it several times but it never got it to work any better. I replaced it with a C's short shift kit, and to be honest there is no comparison between the two, regarding quality or performance.Instantly my gear shift was transformed, all gears now select perfectly, and the shift change now feels short + solid My advise would be, either fit a good quality short shift kit, or stick with the stock shifter mate. I have a oem 6 speed shifter going for free here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=218396 It does'nt come with the nylon insert and reverse lock out part though, as i needed these to fit the C's shifter. Are you converting from auto, or are you simply replacing a damaged/worn 6 speed shifter? JamieP
Sorry mark, could not find it today, will speak with Lee. Have to agree with above, C's short shifter is superb, i can change gear very fast with mine.
Hoppy
Jamie i bought mine about 6 months back from Nengun (Japan), but after i purchased it they told me that C's had discontinued the shifter, again!! but fortunately they were able to source me one from another store in Japan, which still had C's shifters on the shelf. Nengun have now updated they're website, stating that C's have now discontinued this item, although MVP and various other stores still have them for sale, at the moment that is?? but it looks like a rare shifter is about to get even rarer So Mark, if you want one, get your skates on mate
mark newman
Thank's for your help suprasplu, I am changing from a auto to 6 speed. And the kit i am receiving does not come with the gear shifter. I wouldnt mind a OEM shifter they just seem quite rare to source. I might give the ebay one a miss then. I'll look into a C's shifter.
