Thermocouple Type A or B

Hi all

I'm in the process of sorting my egt gauge. I am trying to buy a probe and the harness to fit the plx module. I have the choice of type A or B when I buy the harness, is it just the plug that is different. If so which is the most common?

I have read that inconel would be the best choice for probe?

Thanks

Rob

inconel type a and b mean nothing.

you need type K thermocouple. some connection plugs and some compensation cable..

buy all from rs components.

There is a chap on ebay selling this stuff off silly cheap. "phil.jone5" is his user name. I bought 5 K types of the 3mm @ £8 each + £2 for the brass gland clamp fittings.

Lyndon.

I would never, ever use anything but an Inconel probe if used before the turbo on a high output petrol engine. Putting the probe after the turbo is pretty pointless. I also use stainless glands as they are more likely to come undone in a years time if I want to renew the probe or alter something. 99% of gauges are configured for K type probes.
