pistonbroke
Right, seems you have two seperate problems. 1st and most simple is that your battery sounds dead. The oil everywhere doesn't mean it's leaking from everywhere, is probably leakking somewhere and being flung about by one of the pulleys, my money is on your front main seal. Get some pics anyway and I'll try to diagnose it better.
Steve A
just checked the battery charger says its fully charged and is only 6 months old would it be dead already? pics of the oil This is filter side as u can see theres quite a bit down there Drivers side rear Passenger side Drivers side front corner stick shows no oil at all in car

keron
looks like rocker cover gaskets...these may just need to be re-tightened down...common thing on supras/mr2s...they loosen up over time....i bet if you have a go and tighten them....they will be loose also your distributor has an oil seal/ring...again common for them to leak...only a couple of quid tbh! the oil around the filter area could be a oil pressure sensor...or maybe a filter seal leak?? Terminator
If the battery is that new, it could be dirty terminal clamps prevent adequate charge. Take off both clamp clean them up until the metal that makes contact with the post is clean, a little fine sand paper will do the trick. Give the battery a good charge and see how it goes. To be honest most of the oil in your pics looks like it has been there a while, not that fresh looking, quite a bit of road debris on it. When did the car last have a good service? Swampy442
Is it an auto? Try pushing the gear lever forwards a bit, see if that helps. Maybe the start inhitbiting switch isnt quite made.
Steve A
good news on the oil it was the bolts that were lose so all tightened and clean up and it looks a lot better the starting issue is still a puzzle though it starts but not always first time, it clicks i hear a whirring noise and then nothing so i try again and it starts, sometimes it struggles to start then kicks in. Battery was fully charged and all the electrics work stereo lights etc. just struggles to start once its started all is fine. any suggestions? TLicense
When you say whirring noise, is the engine turning over, or is it a smaller noise than that. IF you see what I mean.
Steve A
smaller noise mate thought it was the aerial to start with but that now works so isnt that. that sort of nosie though but slightly quieter

keron
sounds like a sticky starter motor maybe?
Robzki
sounds like a sticky starter motor maybe? yeah that'd be my guess, clean all connections on the starter. If not try and 'borrow' a starter. Has it been sat around for a while?
supra_aero
Hey spooky. Sorry to hear about this. I bet my money its the starter motor. The bad news is its very difficult to get to. The good news is you can buy £10 refurbing kit on ebay. I had a lexus GS300 (same engine as NA supra) and that cured my problem. Was exactly as you described. A clicking sound, then it'd start on 3-4th go. Worth doing sooner than later as it'll get progressively harder to start and will start draining the battery as well. Sorry to hear of your probs. On a positive note, at least they are cheap fixes.
Nodalmighty
Just check the chassis / engine earth strap is tight and the contact areas clean from rust/crap as this can exhibit similar issues. Lyndon.
