Well basically .. how? situation is that my mate has a brand new Evo 8 at 320BHP so i was happy with my supe running the same power... but hes now gettin an ECU update to take it to 380BHP... barstard!

Ive heard bit from other threads etc but just want to know if any knows the cheapest and easiest way of gettin that sort of power from the supra and how much its gona cost... its already got a full exhorst system and decatted. Would it not just be easy to get it chipped too???

Thanks for the help! :thanks:

If your already decatted, and im asuming its a Jspec, then your probably already there abouts anyway, as long as you change your plugs and maybe your fuel pump to be on the safe side.

ISSSS ITTT :) good news ... didnt think ud get much power just from doing that!? Sounds good tho! Yeah its a j-Spec. Which plugs are recommended!

Evo will probably be quicker if you've both got 380BHP.

Do you know what boost you're running? I got 363 at the hubs with 1.15 BAR.

Check my sig list for what you need - including some well recommended plugs.

God knows what im running ... cars just left Japan! il tell u in july!

how does your supra compare to the similarly powered evo, i.e 0-60,top ends, handling etc?

A mate of a mate has an evo8 with around 380bhp and I've had a few blats round between Oxford and Reading with him.

Off the mark its incredibly quick but I'm usually past him by 70-80 mph. 0-60 the Evo should beat you easily, though it helps if you have an auto Supra! Above 120 its really no where near as quick as the supra. Its the same story for longer, sweeping corners, the supra is quicker.

However, when rougher roads, dirt/grit/water on the road, sharper twisty corners and hard breaking come in the equation the Evo has a big edge. Its grip seems to be much higher and he can just get the car round the corner with so much more confidence than I can in the Supra. I think most of it is down the handling and 4wd system.

It a nice motor and fantastic fun to be in but its fugly, has a horribly hard ride and is expensive to run.

If you want to keep up on the straights you'll need BPU minimum: Full decat, restrictor ring, NGK or IK22 plugs and FCD. You could do that for about £400 but you REALLY should get a boost gauge and walbro pump to be on the safe side. If you do the work yourself the lots will cost around the £800 mark.

If your car is in good running order (and I mean good) and you run run at 1.1 bar, then you should see between 380 and 420bhp on a jspec. A lot seems to depend on the condition of the IC (at least in my case).

Don't get too hung up on the hp figures though. Wheel horsepower is what matters but unless the cars are run on the same rolling road its not a good comparison. I think it was Jake that took his car to two different (well known) rolling roads and saw 80 odd HP difference between the two.

Should be in good running order... only has 20'000 miles on the clock! i think id be happy with around 360 for the time being. so a boost of about 1bar sounds good to me ... dont wanna kill them turbos too quickly!
