God damn car is still hesitating / misfiring even after new plugs!

Hi all,

wondered if anyone could shed light.

Just changed my oil and oil filter and whilst at the garage (since the car had been misfiring/hesitating very occasionally) decided to change the spark plugs for some brand new NGK BCPR7ES as recommended by various peeps on here. The air filter was cleaned at the same time.

Oh, and i put some fuel treatment in the tank and sprayed some "power boost" into the inlet manifold - thought i'd give her a real clean.

As soon as the guy took her up the road, i could see it misfiring, more at low revs.

Now it seems to be doing it just now and again, and not so much at full throttle.

Annoying though as i expected the new plugs to remove all hesitation whatsoever, and at the moment i feel like i've spent £110 to make the car go slower!

Check the plug gap....... I said this to Grazer as well - BCPR7ES do not come pre-gapped. I know he had just chucked his last set in without gapping them. Gap at 0.8mm - 0.9mm but all 6 the same.

It could also be fuel starvation... perhaps the walbro pick up filter in the tank is clogged? Or dropped off as I've heard has happened to people before due to the little rivet coming off that secures it to the bottom of the pump. Worth a check.

It could also be a bad fuel filter - I had very similar issues and found the fuel filter was in very poor condition. Replaced it and it was fine, it also idled a lot smoother.

Edit: oops ewizzy already mentioned that... Bad fuel filter gets a 2nd vote thought!!
