So iv finally hooked up the Xbox into the burds HD Sony 1080i Tv, using the HD cable that has 5 conectors, red, blue, green, white, yellow. Iv got the HDMI cable sitting here, just wondered if there is going to be any difference between data speeds of the two cables?? And or Picture Quality???

thats not a HD cable that has the 5 connectors mate, its a componats IN cable... alot of people are getting this confussed!

Componants IN cable you will only be able to distribute around 500i rather than the 720p or 1080p that your after bud.

There is only 1 way of tranfering HD via cable which is a HDMI cable (High Defenision Media Interface) that will do the audio in HD also!

Hope thats helped :)

To be honest you probably won't notice a difference, as the component cable can carry a 1080i signal. HDMI(high definition multimedia interface) can carry 1080p but as the tv is only hd ready ie. 720p/1080i max resolution then the picture will be the same.

from the xbox, you probably wont notice much difference and depending on the TV's converters you may find slower image response time with HDMI(although this will only be in the 1-2ms range so not really worth worrying about). The differences are all a bit of a myth on home level hardware.

You may aswell choose which ever one looks neater.

im running mine with the hdmi cable and the components cable at the same time. its the only way my surround sound would work in conjunction with my tv.

I had to brake the plastic cover off the components plug and even then they only just fit in next to each other.

Component video is capable of carrying 1080p.

I run HD over component and HDMI and for ease of setup and cost HDMI wins but component with good quality cabling also looks great with the right equipment.

As an example with HDMI cables just get the cheapest at the length you need, about £15 normally, with component being an analogue tech the cable quality really counts so cables in excess of £150 are not uncommon ;)

I'm using a Vivanco hdmi lead on mine, It has a what hi-fi 5 stars and is only £30.

My opinion is that it's great, I used to play forza with the standard connector that came with it, certain bits of writting were very hard to read, yet with the hdmi they are as clear as can be.
